A new Colorado nonprofit organization has been established to strengthen and unify the state’s leading aerospace sector. Based in Westminster, Aerospace Colorado debuts with over 60 member organizations committed to enhancing the state’s aerospace business environment. Initial priorities, guided by member input, are expected to include state and federal advocacy, workforce development, and public programs that support aerospace workers and companies across Colorado. The organization will focus on the full spectrum of Colorado’s aerospace community from space to defense, crewed and uncrewed aviation, drones, manufacturing, academia, and the businesses that support them.
Aerospace Colorado, based in Westminster, was formed to bring Colorado’s aerospace community together under a single, influential voice. By uniting organizations of all sizes, from emerging startups to established industry leaders, the nonprofit aims to reinforce Colorado’s competitive edge in the national and global aerospace economy.
“Having served on the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology and represented Colorado for eight terms in Congress, I’ve seen firsthand how critical this state’s aerospace sector is to both our national security and our economic future,” said Ed Perlmutter, Former U.S. Congressman, Partner at Holland & Knight and Board Member of Aerospace Colorado. “Aerospace Colorado is exactly the kind of industry-driven initiative that can make a real difference — bringing companies together to speak with one voice on policy, build the workforce pipeline, and ensure Colorado remains a top destination for aerospace investment. I’m excited to support this effort and help this organization deliver results in both Denver and Washington.”
“Colorado has long been a hub for aerospace innovation, but our industry’s full potential can only be realized when we work together,” said Bradley Cheetham, President & CEO of Advanced Space and Chair of Aerospace Colorado. “Advanced Space is proud to be a founding member of this nonprofit that represents a historic collaboration. Aerospace Colorado is action‑oriented, focused on driving real results for our members and our state. There’s no better place to celebrate this launch than at Wings Over the Rockies, a venue that highlights Colorado’s rich aviation and space heritage.”
Aerospace Colorado will serve as a unified platform for advocacy, workforce development, and industry collaboration, working to:
- Advocate for policies that support aerospace growth and innovation
- Promote Colorado as a premier destination for aerospace talent and investment
- Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing among member companies
- Support workforce development initiatives to cultivate the next generation of aerospace professionals
- Represent the entire state to capture its strength and distinctiveness
- Champion industry needs for scale and impact
We invite companies across the state to join us for a special Colorado Aerospace Happy Hour at Wings Over the Rockies on February 25 to learn more.
